My Story

I started out in local law enforcement and stayed there for 18 years and then spent a short time as a prosecutor. What I discovered is that both of those are thankless jobs. I wanted to help people and get feedback about what people needed. I started my practice in 2008 and have never looked back. It feels good when I can minimize a client’s exposure. It feels great when we win. It feels awesome when a client tells me they could not have done it without me.

My Approach

When I meet with clients I like to let them talk about what they perceive as their biggest obstacle/problem and then find out what their goals are. I help clients by listening to what they need, knowing the likely outcome of their case if they were to go to trial, and educating them to know the difference. Maintaining good professional relationships with opposing counsel and the Court is important because that benefits my clients. We prepare each case as if it is going to trial, but recognize that mediated settlement agreements are in the best interest of families in the long run.
